Run of form continues for the 2nds
UBRFC had a mixed day of results in BUCS yesterday, with two wins and two losses.
The 1st XV played away at Exeter, and lost narrowly 42-31. Hugh Hamilton-Green and Faysal Olabooye both grabbed doubles as the team executed well in attack, but there are still a few work-ons ahead of next week's game against USW 1s away.
The 2nd XV won their fifth game on the bounce, putting Swansea to the sword 67-14. With the try bonus secured after only twenty minutes, the team were enjoying playing on the 4G surface, and started to run away with it before half time. Ollie Pell ran the show from 10 on his return to the starting team, and Rhodri Skyrme and MOTM Callum Sanders both scored two tries each.
The 3rd XV came up against a strong Exeter side, and failed to match up physically, either up front or out wide. There were good individual performances from Ben Marshall at no. 8 and Vinnie Baker out wide, but ultimately, the boys never got going, eventually going down 22-7.
The 4th XV travelled to Bath Spa, and despite dominating the game, never could quite pull away from the opposition, narrowly winning 20-12. Highlights of the game include Bristol being awarded a penalty try from a driving maul.
