Bristol just miss out in close loss to Oxford
UBRFC 1st XV narrowly lost to Oxford 14-12 in a tight game under the lights. In front of a healthy crowd, Bristol started where they left off before Christmas, with a couple of tries early on coming from a strong set piece. Unfortunately, Oxford's maul starting firing after the half time break, and this resulted in two tries, both of which were converted. Oxford held on despite a late flurry of possession for Bristol, winning the Evans Reeves Trophy.
After the game, club members from both Oxford and Bristol filled the clubhouse with plenty of post match entertainment and songs. Excitement has already started to build for a hopeful return fixture next year! A massive thank you to all involved in organising this fixture, and good luck to Oxford for their fixture against the Army next year.
As for Bristol, attentions turn next week back to the BUCS campaigns, with the 1st team in action against USW at home.
