HISTORY OF UBRFC
Founded in 1876, University of Bristol RFC is one of the oldest and largest sports societies within the university. With over 140 current members, and an extensive alumni network, joining UBRFC means more than just pulling on a shirt every week. Every time you step on that turf, you represent over 130 years of clubmen, joining the likes of England Sevens' captain Tom Mitchell, RWC winners Josh Lewsey and Kyran Bracken and Bristol Bears' Dave Attwood in pulling on the maroon and white.
ABOUT THE CLUB
UBRFC caters for a wide range of rugby-playing abilities. From performance in our 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams, to playing socially for either our 4ths or on our intramural circuit, there are plenty of ways to get involved with the club.
Our first team currently plays in BUCS Premier South A, and are highly competitive in this league, having won the title in the 2016/17 season. They, alongside our other performance teams, are all striving for promotion in the upcoming season (2018/19).
Our 4th team, despite being a predominantly social side, are also very successful, just missing out on promotion from their current league last season (2017/18), demonstrating that it is possible to play hard and fair and still enjoy the social the night after!
Become part of something greater
Brotherhood - a relationship between brothers, a friendship unlike any other, built out of respect and trust, and will always have each other's backs.
UBRFC is a brotherhood. When you step onto that pitch, you stand as 15 brothers, all with one common goal. And no amount of blood, sweat or tears will stand in our way of achieving that goal.
