On Monday evening, former England fullback Jonathan Webb returned to his halls of residence, Badock Hall, to give an insightful talk about balancing rugby, medical school and being a father. He regaled the audience with tales of playing with and against the likes of Jeremy Guscott and Serge Blanco, whilst also keeping us up to date with the latest medical advances in the field of sport-specific knee surgery!
Now a renowned orthopaedic surgeon, Jonathan is most fondly remembered in Bristol for his significant contribution to UBRFC during the 1980s, under the coaching of Bob Reeves. The club is extremely grateful for Jonathan taking the time to come and speak to a few of the current UBRFC clubmen, and he has accepted an invitation to come watch the 1st XV play next season in their push for Super Rugby.
If you are a UBRFC alumnus who is interested in coming to speak to current clubmen, or if you simply want to visit and see how much has changed since you were last at the University of Bristol, then please get in touch with our alumni secretary, Jamie Quinn (see the Contacts page), or contact our Facebook or Twitter accounts - @UniBristolRFC.
